The CRYSTAL HAZE BAND, originally a hard rock group, played lead guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and lead vocals. Since 1975 and until today they have been writing and playing original music with zeppelin heaviness, mixed with the progressiveness of Rush and paired with the melodic sensibility of Queen and Todd Rundgren. Starting with their debut album FLAME JANUARY, the band experienced sudden and meteoric popularity in the Midwest when their album was promoted nationally through radio plays by "FLAME" and "JANuARY" and distributed in all major radio markets. The original CRystal HAze Band has established itself as one of the most successful and influential progressive rock bands in music history.

While moonlighting workers in Branson and Lake of the Ozarks in Arkansas did session work, Ellis made sure the Crystal Haze Band would last forever.
